Welcome to Volt Media. Our award-winning video production team works with events and brands across New Zealand to create and deliver powerful video, event livestream and digital content. 

We're the driving force behind the video production and livestreaming of some of New Zealand's biggest motorsport events. 

We love what we do and comply with all regulations laid out in the Code of Practice for Safety and Health in the New Zealand Film and Video Production Industry to make every event a success.

OUR TEAM

The multidisciplinary team at Volt Media can take your video from concept to creation, including storyboarding, scripting, graphic design, animation, shooting, directing, producing, and editing.

DAVE HEDGE

Company Director/Producer

Volt Media founder and co-director Dave is a television industry veteran with vast experience in video production live broadcasting. Dave’s love of rallying, broadcasting and video production led him to start Volt Media in 2006.

Dave’s diverse career spans production, programming and broadcasting for TVNZ, TV3, the Rugby World Cup, the Melbourne Cup, magazine shows and the entertainment industry.

Dave thrives on developing innovative video production solutions for clients and says a huge part of this is by building teams of the best people to deliver wickedly successful outcomes.

When Dave isn’t in the office, you’ll find him doing the things that make him excited about video production including sailing, motor racing, rallying, motorbikes and vinyl.

EMMA WATKINSON

Business & Production Manager

Volt Media co-director Emma’s video production career spans the creative industries, including time at TV3.

Emma is passionate about delivering compelling and powerful video and TV production projects for clients. She works with Volt Media’s clients from start to finish to ensure goals are met and delivery expectations are exceeded. Emma also manages event operations, scheduling and logistics, whether it's a small crew or a massive outside broadcast unit with 30+ people.

When not immersed in the business Emma practice mindfulness. She enjoys yoga, gardening, a burgeoning houseplant collection and walking an extremely overactive bearded collie (say hello to India below!).

DAN EDSER

Editor/Graphics Designer/Camera Operator

Volt Media camera and drone operator Dan joined the team in 2016. Dan loves the creative and collaborative process of video production from live television, website design to product content.

Dan is the go-to for editing client videos and designing kick-ass graphics. You can find him working on all aspects of the video process, ensuring the vision is delivered in the final product.

Beyond his tech expertise, Dan's a creative at heart - he’s built his own guitar, and now he’s tackling an even bigger project of building a race car!

Office Pupperino

India runs the show here at Volt Media, keeping the team on track. Her favourite thing is sleeping under desks of whoever might need company most (normally Dan who’s deep in editing).

India expects regular pats, lunchtime walks and going for a drive on errands.

As our primary greeter, India ensures a positive experience for all visitors especially courier drivers in high viz. India’s favourite things outside of work include walks, frisbee in the backyard and LOTS of treats.

AWARDS

Volt Media was awarded the 2024 Video Content of the Year Award by MotorSport New Zealand, for our series on the 300 race history of the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship. Excellent narration, insightful interviews, and depth and perspective earned Volt Media this prestigious award. 

 

Volt Media director Dave Hedge is also recipient of 2022 Motorsport New Zealand Producer of the Year, and Feature Journalist of the Year in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
